Conference
I participated in Coupled Problem2021 on June 14-16, 2021. The conference was scheduled to be held in Chia, in the southern part of Sardinia, Italy. But due to the novel Corona disaster, it had to be held online.
FSI analysis
I presented the results of fluid-structure interaction (FSI) analysis to investigate the self-induced oscillations of a thin delta wing at the transonic speed. The FSI model consists of the fluid solver SU2 and the structure solver CalculiX coupled by the coupling library preCICE. Both SU2 and CalculiX are well-established solvers and using them saves the validation cost of the FSI model. That is the reason why I chose this FSI model.
I have reproduced the process of the wing starting self-induced oscillation and reaching the limit cycle. There should be a mechanism that causes the oscillatory motion and finally reach an equilibrium state, This will be reported in detail in the next opportunity.
Others
This presentation can be found on the preCICE website. Related content was also presented at the 2020 Symposium on Shock Waves. It will also be presented at CMD2021.
